Health & Safety Policy

July 1st 1st 2010 (due for review Dec 1st 2010)  

• All contract work carried out by Hugh Evans Window Cleaning Services is in compliance with recent IOSH training.  Hugh Evans Window Cleaning Services is an accredited member of the Safe Contractor Scheme.  These points are required by recent legislative rulings.

• Hugh Evans Window Cleaning Services Health & Safety Policy is reviewed every quarter and adjusted if necessary.

• It is the responsibility of Hugh Evans Window Cleaning Services to ensure that all sub contractors are fully aware of this Health & Safety documentation and the “Working on site” documentation. 

• All persons who engage in any work on behalf of Hugh Evans Window Cleaning Services must abide by the Health & Safety points set out in this documentation and the “Working on site” documentation.

• All persons who engage in any work on behalf of Hugh Evans Window Cleaning Services must abide by the Health & Safety points set out in this documentation and the “Manual Handling” documentation. 

• All operatives will ensure that the "Equipment Maintenance" documentation is kept updated.

• Safe systems of work and client / contractor safety is outlined clearly in the “Working on site” documentation.  Signed method statements are provided before the commencement of any work if client so requires.

• Any accident / incident involving client or contractor that occurs on site is to be reported immediately to Hugh Evans Window Cleaning Services.  However minor the accident / incident all details must be recorded, dated and signed on the "Accident / incident report sheet".

• In the event of an accident each operative would closely adhere to the guidelines outlined in the “Post Accident Emergency Procedure” documentation.

• Any risk to client or contractor will be kept to an absolute minimum by close adherence to the “Working on Site” document as well as the individual method statement set out for each particular contract.

• This "Health & Safety Policy" document will be reviewed and audited bi annually and adjustments will be made where necessary.  This procedure applies also to any method statements made for individual contracts. Where amendments are made operatives will then be updated accordingly as to Health & Safety procedures.
